Liberty Utilities Will Conduct a Brief Aerial Survey this Week

JOPLIN, MO – March 2, 2020 – Liberty Utilities will conduct a brief aerial survey of Company power lines and electrical equipment on Thursday, March 5, 2020. The survey is expected to run for approximately 4 hours, but is subject to change based on weather and wind conditions. The flight path will begin in Neosho, Missouri and will continue south over Noel, Gravette, Decatur, and will end in Flint Creek, Arkansas. The helicopter tail-number will be N619.

The aerial inspection process uses a low-flying helicopter to survey vegetation, poles, and power lines in Liberty’s local electric service territory. The survey focuses on identifying potential problems with electric equipment and nearby vegetation. The process uses a high-resolution infrared imaging system to detect potential equipment issues that may go undetected in a typical visual inspection.
