Large-Load Customer Requests

Energizing business, powering growth

Are you a commercial or industrial company ready to locate or grow your business in Liberty’s Missouri electric service area? We’re open for business. If you’re planning a facility expansion, launching a new project, or upgrading equipment that could result in a substantial energy demand (large load), let’s connect.

What is a large-load customer?

Large load customers are new or existing customers with a demand of 10 megawatts or larger at a single point of interconnection sourced from the transmission system.

Below you will find information on the procedures and requirements for an orderly queue for processing your request. We want to collaborate with you throughout this process.

These requirements are necessary for Liberty’s continued safe and reliable operation of our transmission and distribution system and the security of the transmission system operated by the Southwest Power Pool (SPP), a regional transmission organization.

Applicant responsibilities include:

  • Design, installation, and maintenance of its own equipment
  • Coordinating with Liberty during engineering and design phase of the project
  • Engaging separately with Liberty regarding request
  • Adhering to all financial and credit obligations
