Smart meters are digital meters that allow for secure and automatic two-way communication. The technology, once fully installed and activated, will enable customers to access near real-time information about their energy usage, giving them more control and the opportunity to take action more quickly to manage costs.

Transmission lines are the large power lines that transport high voltage electricity from Liberty power plants and substations to the distribution system and then to Liberty customers. Liberty electric transmission line upgrade projects help to increase service reliability, and prevent and shorten the duration of power outages.

Our distribution system is what carries energy from our substations to our customer's homes and businesses. Regular maintenance to our distribution system, such as pole replacements and line repairs, is necessary to keep service reliable for our customers.

To help ensure reliable energy for our customers, we recently upgraded and constructed multiple substations that feature new technology. The new substation technology has a significant impact on reducing the number and duration of outages our customers may experience due to storms and other factors.

Our systems must be strong and resilient to withstand storms, wildlife, and other forces. We make regular investments and improvements to our systems in order to keep service reliable for our customers.
Liberty recently completed construction on a new solar facility in Joplin, Missouri. This local solar facility will generate clean, renewable solar energy for customers who wish to participate in Liberty's Solar Subscription Program.
Wildlife cover installations help reduce the number of outages caused by wildlife and help us prevent harm to wildlife caused by contact with our electrical equipment.
Our new My Account platform gives our customers access to near real-time energy usage information and alerts through an upgraded My Account experience.
