Liberty is excited to announce that, effective February 1, 2022, in addition to electric service, we now provide water and wastewater services to the Bolivar, Missouri, community. Read below to learn more about this transition and Liberty.

  • Effective February 1, 2022, contact Liberty for customer service and emergencies related to your electric, water, and wastewater account. These may include leaks, turn on/off service, etc. If you have a specific question regarding your final February City of Bolivar water and wastewater bill, please contact the city at 417-326-CITY (2489).

  • Yes. Effective February 7, 2022, we have opened a walk-in Bolivar payment location to better serve our electric, water, and wastewater customers. The office is located at 2690 W. Broadway St., in Bolivar, Missouri. To view a complete list of our payment locations, click below.

  • You will receive your final City of Bolivar water/wastewater bill in February.

  • Please contact the City of Bolivar at 417-326-CITY (2489) about any billing or payment questions regarding your final City of Bolivar water/wastewater bill.

  • March 2022

  • If you are a current Liberty electric customer, you will have access to the same Liberty payment options for your new Liberty water and wastewater service. Customers who are new to Liberty will enjoy additional payment options compared to their previous service. More information will be provided in a Liberty welcome packet mailed mid-February. In addition, for all Liberty electric, water, and wastewater customers, Liberty has opened a new Bolivar customer walk-in center. The office is located at 2690 W. Broadway St., in Bolivar, Missouri.

  • For our combined electric, water and/or wastewater customers, there is no fee when paying by credit card. For water and/or wastewater customers only, there is currently a fee associated with paying by credit card. We are exploring options to remove this fee in the future. There are many other options to pay your Liberty bill that do not include a fee.

  • Liberty water and wastewater rates, set by the Missouri Public Service Commission (MPSC), will be the same as the rates currently charged by the City of Bolivar. Customers outside the city limits will pay the same rates as those within city limits, slightly less than their current rate with the City of Bolivar. Any change to rates in the future must be approved by the MPSC.

  • If you are a current Liberty electric customer, you will begin receiving a combined electric and water/wastewater bill in March.

  • If you are currently enrolled in Liberty’s Autopay program for your electric service, your combined electric and water/wastewater bill will continue to be paid in this manner without any action needed. If you are only enrolled in the City of Bolivar’s Autopay program for your water/wastewater bill, you will need to provide new autopay instructions to Liberty. Complete the online form to setup autopay.

  • Bolivar voters approved the City of Bolivar’s request to sell its water and wastewater systems to Liberty in June 2020.

    Liberty mailed residents a welcome letter February 1, 2022 with information on the transition. The City of Bolivar has also notified customers. 

  • Liberty is proud to welcome 13 employees from the City of Bolivar to the Liberty family as part of this transaction. We’re excited to have their skills and expertise to help us provide a smooth transition and serve our new Bolivar water and wastewater customers.
